What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packing Specialist position at BEASLEY FLOORING LOCATION II?
The main responsibility of a packing enthusiast is to arrange flooring in cartons to proper specifications without denting or damaging the material. This position requires a quick, coordinated and careful person.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stations 1-4 must pack wood into cartons as wood flow is available
- Scan panels for grading mistakes
- Report any problems with grading or manufacturing process to Line Lead, Quality Control or Supervisor personnel
- Station 5 will pack wood from the end match table. Packer at station 5 will be responsible for making sure that all bevels from the end match are stained and any issues will be brought to the end match operator, Finishing Goods QC Technician, Jr Supervisor and/or Supervisor
- Fill box to correct amount of square footage
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Other duties assigned by Supervisor
Physical/Safety Requirements:
- Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and stoop several times a day.
- Must be able to stand for 10 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift 1-10 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day (handling materials)
- Must be willing to learn the role of the ergonomics program (i.e.. repetitive hand motion requirements, hand/wrist movement, pinch grip and due to handling of boards from in-feed conveyor as well as re-work conveyor).
- Must be able to visualize defects in the product while material is moving.
- Must be able to safely work around moving machinery and focus on the importance of hand safety.
- Must be able to work in industrial environment with elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, humidity and temperature variations
