The American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Administrator is responsible for the development, administration, and evaluation of the AHA Training Center at Beaufort County Community College within the Division of Continuing Education.

Minimum Qualifications
The applicant must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs. They must also be capable of learning and effectively using the American Heart Association (AHA) Atlas System and performing related computer-based tasks. Additionally, the applicant must currently hold, or be willing to obtain, an AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Current license as EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or RN.
Essential Duties
Under the direction of the Director of EMS, the AHA Training Center Administrator works cooperatively with BCCC faculty/staff to perform the following:
- Coordinate and schedule AHA course offerings in the college’s four county service area
- Audit AHA class folders for adherence to AHA and BCCC guidelines
- Receipt and process AHA card fees and issue certification cards
- Maintain up-to-date instructor affiliate agreements/contracts
- Maintain appropriate classroom standards that include the effective management of students in the classroom and the management of classroom and lab facilities.
- Identify and/or recommend equipment needed to teach the competencies prescribed in the approved curriculum by the BCCC Board of Trustees, the North Carolina Community College System, and accrediting entities
- Maintain compliance with established North Carolina Community College System performance measures, national benchmarks, etc. for the appropriate curriculum as prescribed by the North Carolina Community College System and accrediting entities
- Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor
- Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner
- Comply with the college’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Faculty and Staff Policy Manual
- Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor
