What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mentor Coach position at Beaufort-Jasper EOC?
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Provide coaching and overall support to Education Staff and Center Managers. Ensure that Center Managers and Education staff receive support to successfully implement the curriculum and exhibit effective teaching practices that promote quality interactions, development of school readiness skills, positive child outcomes and center-level operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Utilize, program identified, Practice Based Coaching cycle components for the purpose of assessing needs, engaging in focused observations, and providing reflection and feedback in order to set goals and develop action plans.
2. Work as a mentor and active support system for Center Mangers to identify strengths and areas of needed support to improve center-level operations.
3. Assess education staff to identify strengths, areas of needed support, and which staff would benefit from intensive coaching.
4. Develop and implement individual coaching plans with specific goals based on observations and assessment results.
5. Provides constructive feedback and on-site support to Center Managers regarding effective center-level function, and for Education Staff regarding teaching practices for the purpose of increasing teacher confidence and competence which may include model teaching, co-teaching, providing reading materials and/or other resources as needed.
6. Review coaching plans with the Early Childhood Manager and assess progress of mentees.
7. Provide additional training to new teaching staff as aligned with instruction from the program’s Early Childhood Manager and maintain support as needed.
8. Administer, monitor and assess the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) as required and provide general classroom observations throughout the year to determine the identified education staff’s classroom progress and early childhood service delivery.
9. Assist Early Childhood Manager with collecting, compiling, analyzing and reporting data relative to the education content area.
10. Facilitate and conduct staff trainings as needed.
11. Compile and distribute research based resources and materials to classroom staff.
12. Work collaboratively with Center Managers to develop schedules for observations, mentoring sessions, trainings, etc.
13. Maintain documentation of all coaching activities and provide reports (written and verbal) as required along with developing center improvement plans for Center Mangers to enhance center operations and the effectiveness of comprehensive service delivery at each location.
Attend all required meetings, pre-service, in-service and other trainings as required

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
