Position Summary
The Health Informatics Specialist will provide all electronic health record (EHR) training and support to users. The Health Informatics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating training agendas, delivery of training materials and performing EHR technical support. The Health Informatics Specialist will also work closely with internal departments to ensure that users have the knowledge and skill to operate the EHR system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides classroom one-on-one and on-site roaming end user support
- Executes hands-on initial and on-going training for new and existing staff on the EHR system, other integrated systems, and related applications
- Supports new and upgrade implementation modules
- Performs HIT operational audits and generate reports as determined by management
- Offers immediate support to staff with reported issues and concerns
- Triages end user issues providing support in specific areas such patient encounters, patient scheduling, workflows and business operations of EHR and other applications/software
- Performs workflow assessments and provide feedback on system/workflow improvements
- Documents and monitors new and existing workflows and their associated procedures
- Collaborates in the development of necessary policies and procedures and forward related issues that require resolution
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Associates degree/Allied Health certification in Nursing with 2 years of clinical experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, or another related field with 1 years of clinical experience preferred
- Computer skills required: (Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Prior support or training experience with EMR, required
- FQHC experience preferred
