  • Forklift Operation: In warehouse settings, stockers may be required to operate forklifts or other machinery for moving heavy pallets of goods.
  • Use of Technology: Familiarity with stock management software or scanners to track inventory in some stores or warehouses.
  • Language: Preferably : English/Spanish/Portuguese.

This role can be physically demanding but is also vital to ensuring that customers have the products they need and the store runs efficiently. Their responsibilities and required skills can vary depending on the specific industry or company, but here’s a general overview:

  • Inventory Management: Keeping track of stock levels and notifying supervisors when inventory is low or needs replenishment.
  • Product Organization: Ensuring products are placed in the correct location and arranged in an orderly manner to enhance visibility and accessibility for customers.
  • Quality Control: Checking products for defects or damages and removing any damaged items from the shelves to maintain quality standards.
  • Assisting with Store Layout: Sometimes stockers help to re-organize or set up displays, especially for sales or promotions, ensuring products are strategically placed for maximum visibility.
  • Customer Assistance: Answering basic customer queries about product locations and availability.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Keeping aisles, shelves, and the stockroom clean and orderly, which can also include removing empty boxes, dusting shelves, or sanitizing areas.
