Project Overview
Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary
In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. The Area Superintendent - Indirects, will report into the Project Superintendent.

Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. The Area Superintendent - Indirects, will report into the Project Superintendent.
Major Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for craft worker safety in related teams, implementing a Zero Accidents philosophy
- Responsibility for the Equipment and Tool programs on site, including budget and utilization requirements.
- Allocate craft workers to specific work assignments on the project
- Comply with project direct hire work practices
- Set and meet project cost and schedule targets
- Coordinate direct hire work activities with subcontractor work activities as required
- Ensure construction site cleanliness and housekeeping requirements are met
- Ensure the quality of the work performed meets requirements
- Monitor work package completion progress on a daily basis.
- Manage and ensure that site Cranes and Rigging, Scaffold work activities meet safety and site-specific requirements
- Monitor the plan for project site transportation services on the project.
- Develop forecast labor unit rates, field distributable rates, and construction equipment costs.
- Monitor work activities and craft timesheet approval process
- Monitor General Foreman, Foreman and Superintendent ratios on the project and their performance
- Ensure that project automation tools are being effectively used by craft professionals on the project
- Approve craft staffing plans for the work to be performed
- Approve project schedules and work plans for the work to be performed via the Three Week Lookahead, 90 day plan and ensure the P6 Level IV schedule is updated and support the overall project schedule.
- Monitor actual work performance against the project budget and schedule
- Develop and implement the layout of required temporary construction facilities for the Site
- Establish a working relationship and lines of communication with Project Field Engineer, Field Procurement Supervisor, Contracts Manager, and other key supervisors on the project and in the unit.
- Support and develop as required craft training plan
- Monitor the use of calibrated measuring and test equipment on the project and ensure its checked in per policy.
- Approve Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensure that Craft Professionals have the tools they require to be productive
- Identify construction critical items that have the potential of impacting the work schedule
- Monitor project compliance with the Environmental Control Plan
- Monitor jobsite work rule compliance
- Supports Workface Planning efforts.
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
- Thorough knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to engineering, construction and field activities.
- Thorough knowledge of construction technologies and jobsite management.
- Broad knowledge of the impact and effect of using field automation tools.
- Broad knowledge of environmental compliance laws and requirements.
- Broad knowledge of government compliance standards.
- Knowledge and application of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Safety Philosophy.
- Broad knowledge of Bechtel Construction Standard Work Process Procedures.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma program.
- Thorough knowledge of current industry standards.
- Understands and applies the requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan, and the Bechtel Core Processes to area of responsibility.
- Knowledge of company and project quality policies.
