Job Summary
As a Business Systems Analyst at BPMI, you will be responsible for the analytical work in documenting, enhancing, and maintaining business processes as applied to information technology (IT) systems. This position serves as a liaison between business users and the IT staff performing the technical work of system development/coding.
Essential Duties:
- Collaborate with business users to identify opportunities for improvement among business processes in IT systems.
- Understand current business and security requirements, understand technical options/limitations for changing IT systems, and, when appropriate, recommend changes to those requirements.
- Aid in the planning, coordination, and execution of IT system changes.
- Participate in preparing or reviewing detailed functional requirements for system development or enhancements to IT systems to be used by developers.
- Develop user test scripts and coordinate or conduct system testing.
- Develop and promote training material and support conducting training of users.
- Support troubleshooting to resolve user or system problems.
- Develop data queries and reports to support business needs; analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Aid in the planning, coordination, budget management, and execution of company unique IT projects.
- Understand and comply with company IT and cybersecurity policies and instructions.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business management/administration, business/management information systems, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Requires a security clearance, however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Experience in business analysis of IT functions including inventory planning, hardware/software deployment, system functional requirements development, reporting, training, communications, and customer service, including oversight of IT-related improvement projects.
- Experience in application administration of IT systems, including experience with on-premises vs. cloud-based environments and custom vs. commercial software.
- Demonstrates understanding of supply chain management and other business processes (e.g., finance/accounting).
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) across various levels of an organization.
- Ability to work independently and in teams with limited direction.
- Keen attention to detail.
