Tree Farm Supervisor - Planting

Job Overview

Responsible for the planning, coordinating, and supervision of all shipping operations while maximizing efficiency, ensuring employee safety, and providing “Excellent Customer Service.”

Roles and Responsibilities

· Facilitate the daily loading priorities with the goal of getting the customers in and out in the safest and most efficient manner.

· Coordinate all daily shipping related tasks with the supervisors, loader operators, Truck drivers and labor personnel

· Instruct the loader operators on the details of the pick tickets (quantities, varieties, tag colors, bin locations, etc.) to minimize discrepancies during the loading process.

· Ensure that company products are loaded with the proper paperwork (pick ticket)

· Communicate last-minute changes to customer orders to the loader operators and ensure changes are accurately reflected on pick tickets.

· Responsible for collecting all completed and signed pick tickets daily from the loader operators in the morning, prior to lunch, and one to two hours before the close of business.

· Submit verified pick tickets to office administration at lunchtime and at the close of the business day.

· Properly train shipping personnel and submit completed training forms to office admin.

· Work to ensure the shipping crews are harvesting, loading, and tarping the orders using the safest possible strategies.

· Constantly seek new innovative procedures within all shipping activities (harvesting, loading, tarping, etc.)

· Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with all nursery personnel & customers.

· Responsible for filling out the timecards for the shipping personnel.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Shipping and logistics experience preferred.

· Valid Florida Driver’s License

Necessary Skills and Abilities

· Bilingual communication a plus

· Must be punctual, creative, team oriented & self-motivated.

· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.

· Ability to effectively provide work direction and leadership.

· Analytically able to maximize labor productivity, production, and profitability.

· Working knowledge of shipping and logistics coordinating

· Knowledge of tree species helpful

· Must have a clean Florida Driver’s license and be able to drive a company supplied vehicle, safely.

Hours & Pay

· Normal work hours M-F 6:30am - 4:30pm, limited overtime and weekends.

· Competitive pay structure based on qualifications and experience level.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
