The Social Media and Content Specialist will work within a U.S.-based team of skilled marketing communications professionals and report to the U.S. Marketing Communications Manager and receive supervision from a Senior Content Specialist. The Social Media and Content Specialist will be responsible for advancing the social media strategy of the company and developing a variety of B2B content pieces targeted to high-tech companies in a wide range of industries. The professional in this role will directly oversee Beckhoff USA’s day-to-day social media efforts on LinkedIn and YouTube, and will lead efforts to establish a results-oriented presence on other social media platforms.
We are seeking a driven self-starter who is hungry to generate real-world results and can help lead engaging social media initiatives, collaborate effectively with fellow team members across departments, and execute multilayered social media projects from start to completion. The Social Media and Content Specialist must flex creatively, be able to provide ongoing social media management, and sync workflows with other team members in the areas of content development, digital marketing, and events. This collaboration extends to other departments at the company, including product management, industry management, sales, and the global marketing team based in Verl, Germany.

Responsibilities

- Develop engaging social media posts with a purpose following established corporate tone of voice (ToV)
- Develop and engage with follower networks using organic and paid/sponsored content.
- Review available analytics to gauge the effectiveness of social media campaigns and strategic planning
- Support ongoing advertising and lead generation efforts on social media.
- Maintain social listening and monitoring and engage in mutually beneficial interactions with the B2B social media profiles of Beckhoff customers, industry influencers, subject matter experts and trade media outlets to drive and enhance engagement.
- Work closely with the Marketing Communications Manager to help develop high-value B2B content for use on social media and other Beckhoff USA channels.
Travel

Willingness to travel on occasion for work purposes, nationally and internationally, is approximately 5% in a typical calendar year.
- Infrequent but possible business trips and work over weekends for trade shows and other events when necessary.

- Marketing or Communications Degree and/or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience working in a social media capacity in a corporate or agency setting.
- Excellent writing, communication and content development skills.
- Strategic, results-oriented approach to copywriting and social media.
- Demonstrated experience and success completing projects in the areas of social media, content marketing and related fields.
- High proficiency and B2B or B2C experience with social media management platforms such as Loomly, Hootsuite, etc. and social media networks such as LinkedIn, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
- High proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
