Position: Dietary Supervisor

Qualifications:
Prefer Supervisory experience in large-scale cooking and food service position; must be able to obtain and maintain any required certificates; must be in good physical condition, be able to read and write to accomplish job duties; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check
JOB SUMMARY:
Supervises overall preparation of meals and Dietary Services compliant with Residents’ Diet Orders, menu, specifications, Company Policies, Dietary/Sanitary Regulations under supervision of Dietary Manager; ensures high standards of quality for food preparation and service; ensures accuracy of grocery orders, inventory records and adequate inventory; must communicate courteously and respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; must maintain high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Promptly reports any suspected Resident abuse to Administrator
2. Maintains strict confidentiality of Residents’ and Employees’ Protected Health Information (PHI) as required
by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) as amended by the Health Information
Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act
3. Immediately reports to Nurse any unattended Resident leaving facility and assists as needed
4. Complies with and respects Residents’ rights; knocks before entering Residents’ rooms
5. Reports to Dietary Manager all complaints from outside Dietary Department that cannot be resolved
6. Must report any work-related accident to Director of Nursing or Administrator, no later than end of shift
7. Immediately reports any personal “Reportable Health Condition” to Director of Nursing
8. Complies with Company’s Code of Conduct, Company Policies, local, State and Federal Regulations
9. Communicates courteously and respectfully with facility staff, Residents, family members, visitors and others
10. Immediately ensures any liquids on floor are cleaned; reports other Safety Hazards to Maintenance Supervisor
11. If requested, serves on Safety Committee, participates in Safety Meetings and Safety Audits
12. Learns and complies with Company Policies from Employee Handbook, orientation and in-services
13. Complies with Infection Control Policies; reports contact with infectious disease to Infection Control Nurse
14. Attends meetings, in-service training, workshops, other meetings and seminars in compliance with Company
Policies, local, State and Federal Regulations
