- Implement screening and/or referral procedures to identify students needing hearing evaluations.
- Review available medical/audiological information pertaining to the student's performance and probable use of hearing; obtaining updated medical/audiological information and share with parent, teacher, and other appropriate staff
- Obtain diagnostic information through formalized testing.
- Gathers information from teachers and parents to assist in assessing specific student problems.
- Collaborates with support staff, parents, other professionals, and agencies regarding student educational needs.
- Teaches students who are hearing, deaf, and hard-of-hearing.
- Plans instruction as needed per Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Develops long-range goals and short-term objectives for students' individualized education program (IEP).
- Develops appropriate accommodations and services for students' individualized education program (IEP).
- Records student progress and other data as required per IEPs and school monitoring procedures.
- Schedules and groups students according to the nature and severity of their condition.
- Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
