Job Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for all aspects of quality within the organization. This entails the daily product inspections, reviewing, reporting, documenting, and analyzing quality from incoming raw material, outgoing finished product up to and including the quality of the facility. This individual will report directly to the Quality Manager.
Duties
- Serves as a resource for quality issues, standards, and decisions.
- Assist in all Supplier and Customer audits.
- Have working knowledge of quality testing meters, gauges, equipment, and measuring devices.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Quality Assurance/Quality Control checks on equipment.
- Assist in managing and ensuring compliance with all company certifications processes; and help maintain control documents.
- Assist with testing and validation of processes for materials and specifications.
- All other duties assigned.
- Responsible for conducting first piece inspections, in process inspections, final inspections, and spot checks by conducting regular quality inspections on each machine.
- Performing incoming raw material and finished goods inspections.
- Identify non-conforming products and take necessary actions to document and segregate.
- Perform timely investigations to minimize any non-conformities by participating in spot checks, reworks, and product feedback.
- Assist manufacturing with any product, material, quality and process or specification issues.
- Possess a basic understanding of Safety, Lock Out/Tag Out, Fire safety, machine guarding, and defective equipment.
- Ability to work closely with the Management team to answer questions on quality, certifications, etc.
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older.
- High school diploma, or G.E.D.
- At least 1 year experience in a Quality roll participating in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Understanding of Tissue and Towel paper specifications is a plus.
- Able to learn and work within a manufacturing ERP system.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to work effectively within all levels of the organization.
- Positive attitude with a solid team mentality.
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to use and read a ruler.
- Proficiency on a PC including Microsoft Office and Excel is a plus
- The ability to efficiently manage time; effective multi-tasking is necessary.
- Strong work ethic with an exceptional ability to learn and desire to continuously improve.
- Solid independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Able to embrace change, possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to efficiently balance multiple projects.
- Self-Motivated and driven individual to match with company goals and directives.
- Reliable with a great attendance record and work history.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
- Respects confidentiality of information.
- Ability to be on your feet 75% of your workday, lift up to 15 pounds repetitively, and 25- 40 pounds occasionally.
