Summary: The Human Resources Leader will be responsible for overseeing and executing HR functions for approximately 100 employees at our manufacturing and warehouse facility. The majority of the workforce is comprised of non-exempt employees, and this role requires a hands-on approach to employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, and HR operations. The HR Leader will partner closely with site management to drive a strong workplace culture, ensure compliance, and implement best practices to enhance employee engagement and operational efficiency. This role also requires a strategic mindset, acting as a business partner to site leaders, including the VP of Operations, to align HR strategies with business objectives and drive organizational success. Prior HR leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.
Essential Functions (include but not limited to):
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Partnership:
- Acts as a trusted advisor and influential partner to site leadership, including the VP of Operations, to drive people strategies that align with business goals.
- Provides insights and recommendations to management on workforce planning, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Builds strong relationships with leadership and employees to foster a culture of trust, engagement, and high performance.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Leads innovative full-cycle recruitment efforts for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary workers.
- Drafts job descriptions and postings, screens and interviews candidates, drafts offer letters, and ensures a seamless onboarding experience.
- Ensures a constant pipeline of talent to support business growth and succession planning.
- Conducts new hire orientations and ensures effective employee assimilation.
- Training & Development Initiatives:
- Develops and implements training programs to support employee skill development, career growth, and compliance with company policies.
- Identifies training needs and collaborates with leadership to create learning opportunities tailored to business objectives.
- Facilitates leadership training for managers to enhance their people management skills.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, making improvements as needed.
- HR Operations & Compliance:
- Plans, organizes, and controls administrative activities of the department at the site.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements, including OSHA, EEO-1, ACA, and other federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Assists with FMLA, workers' compensation, and other leave tracking and administration.
- Oversees department administration processes, identifies inefficiencies, and implements improvements.
- Develops, recommends, and implements site-specific personnel policies and procedures.
- Performance Management & Employee Relations:
- Oversees performance management programs and ensures timely completion of evaluations.
- Works closely with managers to provide coaching and guidance on performance-related matters.
- Manages employee relations issues, conducts investigations, and provides solutions that align with company policies and culture.
- Responds to and handles unemployment claims, disputes unwarranted benefit requests, and represents the company during hearings.
- HR Data & Reporting:
- Collaborates in the creation of departmental reporting metrics and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Continuously evaluates and implements new processes and technologies to enhance department efficiencies.
- Completes employment verifications and maintains accurate employee records.
- General HR Support:
- Oversees employee off-boarding processes, ensuring compliance and smooth transitions.
- Conducts labor law research and ensures HR policies align with current regulations.
- Assists in clerical duties, including scanning, copying, emailing, faxing, filing, and answering phones.
- Participates in additional projects and initiatives as needed to support business objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- HS Diploma or GED
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide required verification documents.
- English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
- Computer savvy; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Education/Experience/License Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, OR equivalent experience.
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
- Prior HR leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Proven success in strategic sourcing and talent acquisition techniques.
- Strong knowledge of national, state, and local labor laws.
- Demonstrated success in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Experience with clerical and administrative tasks, such as answering phones, scheduling, and document management.

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time, and frequently speak on the phone.
