Job Description
The life enrichment assistant is to assist in following through with the individual activity plans for each resident as well as with small and large group activities with varied experiences. Each activity program is geared towards maintaining the resident’s dignity and independence and contributes to the therapeutic environment of a long-term care facility such as Bedrock Care
Daily Responsibilities:
· Keep a daily departmental attendance record on each resident.
· Understand and follow procedures regarding safety, fire and other disaster plans.
· Demonstrate loyalty to residents and their individual needs and rights.
· Perform other duties and activities assigned by Life Enrichment Director.
· Assist Life Enrichment Director in welcoming all newcomers to the facility – its services, personnel and residents.
· Participate in furthering his/her education either through community education or higher education. All training is to be properly documented.
Qualifications:
· High school education or equivalent, required
· Some clerical skills (typing, filing, etc.) preferred
· Understand the aging process and the emotional, social, and health problems of the elderly. Experience working with special needs individuals is preferred
· Possess a friendly, patient and understanding personality
· Be sensitive to needs and feelings of others
· Have ability to communicate effectively with residents, their families and staff
· Ability to function as a member of a team and work cooperatively with staff members
· Must be flexible in conducting tasks
Physical Demands: Good physical and mental health. Visual and aural acuity in dealing with residents, employees, and volunteers.

Salary : $22,700 - $28,700
