Position Title : Superintendent of Schools
Reports To : Beebe School District (BSD) Board of Education (BoE)
Location : Beebe, Arkansas
District Enrollment : Approximately 3,300 students
Grade Levels : Pre-K - 12
Position Overview
The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of Beebe School District (BSD), providing visionary leadership while ensuring high-quality education for all students. The Superintendent is responsible for the overall management, operation, and performance of the district in alignment with the policies established by the Board of Education (BoE).
The ideal candidate will be an instructional leader, skilled communicator, and strategic manager with a commitment to student achievement, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement .
Key Responsibilities
1. Board Relations
- Serve as the primary advisor to the BoE, providing clear, accurate, and timely information to support informed decision-making.
- Implement policies and directives established by the BoE with transparency and accountability.
- Communicate effectively with the BoE on matters related to district performance, finance, personnel, and strategic initiatives .
- Foster a collaborative working relationship with the BoE while maintaining professional objectivity.
2. Fiscal Oversight
Develop and manage the district's budget to ensure financial stability and responsible use of resources .Oversee state and federal funding compliance , ensuring BSD operates within legal and regulatory requirements .Maintain long-term financial planning , including oversight of district facilities, maintenance, and capital improvements.Ensure transparency and fiscal responsibility in all financial matters, maximizing funding for student learning .3. Academic Success
Lead the development and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to improve student outcomes.Promote data-driven decision-making , ensuring the use of assessment results to improve teaching and learning.Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality administrators, teachers, and support staff to foster an effective learning environment .Support professional development programs that align with the district's goals for teacher growth and student achievement .Ensure compliance with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) regulations .4. Community Involvement
Serve as the face of BSD , maintaining strong relationships with parents, business leaders, local government, and other stakeholders.Advocate for public education and represent BSD in state and regional education initiatives.Ensure effective communication between the district and the community, fostering trust and engagement .Promote partnerships with businesses, higher education institutions, and community organizations to expand student opportunities.Qualifications
Required :
Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field .Valid Arkansas Superintendent License or ability to obtain one prior to employment.Proven leadership experience in a school district setting, preferably at the central office or superintendent level .Preferred :
Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Policy, or Administration .Experience managing a Pre-K through 12th-grade district with diverse student needs .Strong knowledge of Arkansas school finance, educational law, and state accountability measures .Key Competencies
