What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Beebe Veterinary Hospital?
Beebe Veterinary Hospital is looking to grow our staff with the addition of a Veterinary Assistant. Our clinic offers a friendly environment for our clients and their pets in our small town and surrounding areas.
Job Duties
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Feed, bathe and exercise animals when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals
- Assist with restraint and handling of animals during procedures
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, making appointments and managing paperwork
- Provide basic information to pet owners about pet care and procedures
- Assist with the cleaning of the hospital and end of day responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of veterinary general care along with some critical care practices.
- Proficiency in handling X-Ray equipment and performing imaging procedures.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and co-workers.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential.
Experience
- 2 years in a veterinary clinic is preferred
