JOB DESCRIPTION:
The visual arts teaching assistant is responsible for helping students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences which include singing, moving to music, playing of instruments, and listening.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching Assistant responsibilities including, but not limited to: lesson planning, curriculum development, instruction, maintaining grades, developing relationships with students, and communicating with parents.
- Implement PBIS, Calm Classroom techniques and Community Circles with fidelity.
- Collect and analyze individual and program-wide student data.
- Collaborate with colleagues through weekly professional development activities in assessing, selecting, and implementing effective research-based student strategies.
- Work in small groups with students to practice letters, sounds, basic counting, and other lessons as assigned by the classroom teachers for 30 minutes each day.
- Other duties related to meeting the needs of students, as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 184 Day Contract
