We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1 : 1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 2 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child overcome barriers to learning, engage fully in their education, and develop positive social and emotional skills. You will work closely with the child, class teacher, and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide 1 : 1 support to a child with SEMH needs to help them access the curriculum and fully engage in learning activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored support strategies.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for the child.
- Support the child’s emotional well-being and social development, helping them to build confidence and resilience.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage self-regulation and improve behaviour.
- Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCo, and other staff to monitor the child’s progress and adapt support as necessary.
- Provide feedback to teachers and parents regarding the child's progress and any areas of concern.
- Attend training and meetings as required to continue personal and professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
