Beech Valley's client, a top public accounting firm, is seeking an Interim Assistant Controller to support an investment management firm/RIA based in Stamford, CT. The candidate will work with the team responsible for fund accounting, financial statement and tax return preparation, portfolio analytics and performance reporting, investor inquiries and related communications, and managing cash flows and balances related to investment execution/trade settlement.
This is a contract (1099) opportunity. ASAP start date, full-time hours and hybrid, on-site 2 days per week in Stamford, CT. Ongoing duration.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Undergraduate bachelor's degree required
- 3-6 years public accounting experience
- Relevant industry experience a plus
- CPA a plus ASAP Start. 40 hours per week. Hybrid Onsite 2 days per week in Stamford, CT. Ongoing duration.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining strong internal control and processes
- Support the fund accounting process, including the following: calculating intra-month, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance, portfolio reconciliations, bank reconciliations, performance reporting, and review of administrator books and records
- Calculate portfolio analytics, including fund exposures, AUM, performance attribution, liquidity, and other risk management related statistics
- Report manager’s revenue share information and create reporting packages
- Perform the cash management process, including preparing/reviewing wires and reconciling the books and records
- Prepare pro forma portfolio packages to support the Research team, manage liquidity of underlying investments, and manage trade process (subscriptions/redemptions in underlying funds) to execute the trading decisions of the Portfolio Manager
- Perform monthly foreign currency hedging
- Support the investor relations team, create data content for marketing, and prepare responses to client requests
- Assist in the firm and fund compliance requirements
