Beehive Science & Technology Academy is seeking a dynamic educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal for the secondary school (grades 6-12). The ideal candidate should have a strong background in STEM education, curriculum development, teacher mentoring, behavior management, and fostering a positive school culture. The Assistant Principal will support academic programs, student enrichment, discipline and school safety.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & School Culture:
- Foster a positive, inclusive school climate that promotes academic excellence and emotional well-being.
- Promote STEM education and career readiness, ensuring students are equipped with skills needed for success in the future workforce.
- Maintain a strong presence within the school and community by attending school functions, events, and parent meetings.
- Promote positive behavior among students to create a positive learning environment.

Curriculum Development & Instruction:
- Support the development and implementation of STEM curriculum and academic programs, including CTE courses, AP courses, and Concurrent Enrollment.
- Provide mentorship to secondary teachers, focusing on effective STEM pedagogy, instructional strategies, and differentiation.
- Promote data-driven decision-making to enhance student achievement and growth, especially in STEM subjects.
- Support the growth and development of college and career readiness programs.
- Support the growth and development of afterschool programs and competitive clubs.
Professional Development:
- Organize and lead professional development for secondary staff, aligning training with school and state standards.
- Use adult learning theory to deliver targeted professional learning, particularly in STEM pedagogy and digital tools.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and community stakeholders, ensuring strong communication around academic progress and STEM initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Principal and school leaders to set and achieve goals related to STEM education, student achievement, and extracurricular activities.
Student Behavior Improvement:
- Provide assistance to the Principal and leadership team in implementing disciplinary policies and restorative practices.
- Support teachers and counselors in addressing student behavior concerns and developing individual support plans.
- Assist with school safety initiatives, including emergency preparedness and maintaining a safe learning environment.
Compliance & Evaluation:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines and policies.
- Assist in evaluating school programs and initiatives to ensure they meet the needs of students and improve educational outcomes.
- Observe and evaluate teachers to support the improvement of instruction.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. (required)
- Experience: At least 6-7 years of experience in education, with a focus on middle or high school, and a proven track record in curriculum development and teacher mentoring.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of adolescent development, STEM curriculum, and best practices for academic achievement.
- Familiarity with STEM teaching methods, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and educational technology.
- Clearances: Must pass a criminal justice fingerprint and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in STEM education or specialized programs in STEM fields.
- Certification in Educational Leadership or School Administration.

Pay: $74,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year
