The Role
For those who learn best by observing, doing, receiving feedback and guidance, the fellows program is perfect for you. In addition to working alongside a co-teacher and learning on the job in real-time, Fellows receive targeted and unique development as they learn the requisite skills to graduate into a lead teacher role. Graduates with bachelor's degrees in any major are welcome and encouraged to apply.
With daily guidance from School Leaders and the support of a co-teacher, the role and responsibilities of Teaching Fellows will include the following :
Responsibilities
- Support outstanding academic achievement and student character development
- Create a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment that excites and invests students as they reach their full potential
- Build a strong classroom community and relationships with families
- Commit to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration
- Fully engage in all Teacher Fellow and school-wide professional development trainings and practice clinics
- Internalize and deliver innovative and lesson plans
- Use data analytics to strategize around student outcomes
- Adapt teaching for the benefit of each student and collaborates with other educators for support and ideas
- Assesses student learning on a consistent basis and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
Educational Background Requirement
Teaching Fellows receive a starting salary of $60,000 and are eligible for yearly performance awards.
