What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Coaching and Behavioral Specialist (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) position at Behavior Wise?
About Us:
BehaviorWise is a growing pediatric ABA practice located in Short Hills, New Jersey, dedicated to providing innovative and individualized strategies for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and Autism. Our mission is to empower children and their families to thrive by addressing behavior challenges and building strong, supportive family dynamics.
We are launching an exciting new parent training program focused on equipping families with tailored, ABA-based behavioral strategies to manage co-occurring challenging behaviors. This is a unique opportunity to join our team and help build something impactful from the ground up.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a fully licensed mental health professional (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT) to spearhead this new program. The role will focus on delivering structured, manualized parent training to families, empowering them to better support their children. This is a hybrid position, with flexibility around scheduling and remote work, designed for a clinician who is motivated to grow alongside our practice and this initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete training in the manualized parent training program (costs covered by the practice).
- Provide ABA-based parent training sessions tailored to families of children with IDD and Autism.
- Collaborate with the practice to market the new program to both existing and prospective clients.
- Assist in building a client caseload over time through outreach, networking, and engagement strategies.
- Participate in skill-building groups for child clients, if interested.
- Work with the leadership team to refine and expand the program based on client needs and outcomes.
- Option to pursue advanced training and certification to become a program supervisor and in-house trainer.
What We Offer:
- Competitive reimbursement: $100/hour for parent training sessions.
- Training costs fully covered to prepare you to deliver the manualized program.
- Collaborative support for marketing efforts to build your caseload.
- Flexible, hybrid work environment with negotiable scheduling.
- Opportunity for upward mobility within the program, including training and supervision roles.
- Be part of a forward-thinking practice that values innovation and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Fully licensed as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
- Interest in working with families of children with IDD, Autism, and challenging behaviors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and support parents.
- Eagerness to grow alongside a new program and help shape its success.
- Experience with ABA principles is preferred, but not required (training provided).
Please Note:
- This position is fee-for-service and based on a private practice model. As such, there is no initial caseload; the clinician will actively collaborate with the practice to build a client base over time.
- The program is newly launched, requiring dedication and investment in training, marketing, and program development before achieving a full caseload.
