- Obtain answers for patients regarding intake and medication-related questions and communicating admissions expectations.
- Assess risk and identifying when individuals need to be transferred to a higher level of care, BHN Crisis, or the police due to safety and risk.
- Help individuals access suitable services needed by using their working knowledge of community resources.
- Verify individuals' insurances accurately.
- Coordinate schedules for intake appointments and relevant follow-up medication appointments.
- Navigate the databases for intake and medications and completing relevant forms accurately and on a timely basis.
- Contact other agencies to inform them of openings in programs for appropriate admissions.
- Provide all aspects of triage, support, information, and referrals to individuals who call BHN Crisis.
- Communicate with individuals, referral sources, and program staff in a timely manner.
- At least 6 months of related office experience (preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
- Good computer skills (including knowledge of MS Office Suite).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with word processing and email systems (required).
- Detail oriented and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work in high demand and/or stressful environments from time to time (required).
- Engaging individuals to obtain answers to intake and medication-related questions and communicating admissions expectations clearly and professionally.

- At least 2 years of related experience (required).
- Previous call center or intake experience (preferred).
- Experience verifying insurances (preferred).
- Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders and treatment, including severely mentally ill (required).
- Excellent computer skills, including email, and database systems (required).
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledgeable about all BHN Substance Use programs, other BHN programs, and those offered in the community.
- Willing and able to treat challenging and diverse individual populations.
- Cultural competence in dealing with individuals with a variety of different cultural backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of community resources and how to help individuals access them.
- Knowledge and understanding of medication clinic workflows and processes.
