Your role at BHSN:
The Adult Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for providing education and training to individuals with serious mental illness and working with these clients to develop their problem-solving skills, enhance self-esteem, and build relationship skills to enhance the recovery of the individual.

What your day might look like:
- Identifies healthy community opportunities for individuals to socialize and interact; promote these opportunities as directed by the care team
- Assist and support psycho-educational activities and conduct groups to teach consumers about mental health, wellness, self-help in a recovery-based approach
- Transports clients to and from appointments as needed; provides child minding services for consumers int the agency lobby only as needed so client can participate in treatment services
- Understands Crisis Team policy and procedure manual, Agency and regulatory policies and procedures
- Participates in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process. As assigned, sees individuals who are an immediate crisis to curtail emergency visits and/or inpatient admissions
- Additional duties as assigned
Your skills and qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED, preferred Associates degree in behavioral science or Bachelors degree in psychology or a related mental health field
- Experience working with individuals with SUD disorders and/or Mental Health diagnoses
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel

Standard Work Week (Monday-Friday) Hours can be either 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM but will require one night until 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM
