Your role at BHSN:
As a PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) Peer Engagement Specialist at BHSN, you will provide peer individual and group rehabilitation interventions designed to offer support to adults with mental illness. In addition, you will conduct routine monitoring of client engagement and experiences and respond in ways that increase client engagement and satisfaction.

What your day might look like:
- Maintains a caseload and provides peer psychiatric rehabilitation services including orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, referral. individual recovery planning counseling, crisis intervention, patient education, facilitation of group services all of which can occur on and offsite
- Document various reports and notes within a timely manner in accordance with state/federal regulations and Agency policies and procedures
- Maintain productivity levels as established by BHSN and which may, from time to time, change
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments as needed
- Identifies and improves client barriers to attending appointments
Your skills and qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or GED required.
- Any of the following certifications: Certified Peer Specialist, Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, towards and obtain certification.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in mental health or rehabilitation environment preferred
- CPR certification within one year of hire is required;
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation for required travel;
