Job Summary :
This position is full time consisting of 40 hours a week and on call 2 weeks out of the month for multiple housing programs. The Residential Peer Specialist will work in partnership with the Lead Residential Peer Specialist to manage day to day operations of homeless housing programs.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED
- NYS Peer Certification within 6 months of hire date
- Professional, positive attitude
- Good active listening skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions in the best interest of a resident, regulations, local, state and federal laws.
- Self-starter-ability to be solution driven and learn processes, policies, and procedures without constant supervision.
- Strong computer skills in word & excel.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, car insurance, registration, and inspection.
- Reliable transportation
- Willing to travel 50% or more in a work week.
- Personal experience advocating on a variety of issues in Franklin County
- Willing to self-disclose personal recovery.
- Able to clear the NYS Criminal Justice Clearance for a background.
- Not listed on NYS Staff Exclusion List
