Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will assist in executing the daily functions of the human resource department including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale. To ensure company guidelines and best practices are followed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide a full range of Human Resources advice, support, consultation, and guidance, including application of HR policies and processes, to assigned departments and varying levels of employees.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, including complex and/or sensitive matters.
- Demonstrate a commitment to customer service by ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests from all levels of employees.
- Maintain ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage the talent acquisition workflow processes for all production positions, including updating job descriptions, posting job openings, sourcing applicants, screening applicants for organizational fit, updating candidate's status in the HRIS, performing pre-employment processes, etc.
- Perform all new hire transactions in HRIS, create personnel file and coordinate onboarding.
- Act as the first line of contact for general employee questions and assist with the administration of guidelines, programs, procedures, and processes; escalate complex employee issues as necessary.
- Provide general administration support, including onboarding and training coordination and miscellaneous reporting.
- Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Partner with operations team and administrative departments to ensure completion of on-the-job training for new hires, promotions, and current employees.
- Attend and support company events, plan celebrations and coordinate with vendors for activities as needed.
- Assist HR Manager with various HR and location-wide initiatives, including safety events, benefits open enrollment, new programs/policies, and training initiatives.
- Maintain all personnel files including termination, training, and other employee-related documents.
- Assist the HR Manager with creating and maintaining all job descriptions.
- Meet important deadlines for time-sensitive situations (recruitment coordination, new hire, and employee termination process, meeting requests, etc.).
- Ensure accuracy in HRIS data entry and employee file document management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, following best practices, regulatory changes and establishing personal networks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Travel to other locations may be required.
- Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9001 system.
- Practice safe working habits and follow safety procedures, policy, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of HR guidelines and processes.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2 years of HR experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
