Machine Shop Lead with CNC Programmer Expertise

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Supervisor with CNC Programming expertise to oversee daily shop operations while also developing CNC programs for 3-axis machines. This dual-role position offers a competitive salary based on experience and skill level, ranging from $30 to $35 per hour for CNC programming tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, in-depth machining knowledge, and proficiency in CNC programming to ensure efficient operations and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Shop Supervision:

• Oversee daily machine shop operations and ensure workflow efficiency
• Assign and supervise work, maintaining high production and quality standards
• Ensure CNC machines and tools are properly maintained and operational
• Monitor and evaluate production records to improve performance
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and company policies
  
  

CNC Programming (3-Axis Machines):

• Review customer requirements and determine optimal machining strategies
• Generate CNC programs, machining setup sheets, and tool lists
• Develop work-holding strategies and design fixtures for complex geometries
• Set up, program, and operate CNC machines as needed
• Verify numeric code accuracy using software platforms
• Assist the shop floor in meeting quality requirements and troubleshooting machining issues
• Maintain continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experience in using HAAS VF-6, VF-5, V-4, and Lathe
• Experience as a Machine Shop Supervisor and CNC Programmer (3-Axis Machines)
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC programming
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tool selection, and fixture design
• Ability to lead a team, manage workflows, and optimize shop operations
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality control
