Garden Services Crew Member

The gardeners at Belknap Landscape are responsible for the comprehensive maintenance and management of gardens across both residential and commercial properties. Their duties include planting, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, detecting pest issues, and overall landscape management. They ensure that the grounds remain attractive and healthy, often working in conjunction with account representatives and other departments within Belknap Landscape to execute detailed landscape plans and maintain the unique character of each property. This position requires a thorough knowledge of plant species, horticultural practices, and the ability to operate various gardening tools and equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trimming, mulching, plantings, spring/fall clean-ups
• Hand edging & edging w/ machine, seasonal & dormant pruning, hand weeding, turf and plant management
• Seasonal Plantings and upkeep.
• Maintaining gardens and other plant life, watering, deadheading, cutbacks.
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Ensure safety regulations and standards compliance
• General landscaping duties
• If applicable snowplowing and shoveling during the winter months

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• NHLA Certification (not required but a plus)
• Experience and knowledge in Horticulture (2 years)

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
• Must be able to operate general maintenance equipment and vehicles
• The ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to your team
• A strong work ethic and demonstrated reliability
• Knowledge of plants, soil, and horticultural techniques
• Plant identification
• Attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetic
• Experience as a landscaper or in a similar role

PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures and various weather conditions
• Frequently required to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of items exceeding 50 pounds.
• Often required to reach above and below shoulder level.
• Frequent hand manipulation is needed for grasping, handling objects, and operating controls.
• Frequent bending and squatting, with occasional twisting and kneeling.
