What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Assistant position at Belknap Plumbing Systems?
Growing family owned plumbing company in FM1960/249 area is in need of a warehouse assistant. Warehouse assistant's responsibilities include storing materials, picking, and packing orders, and keeping warehouse organized. Previous warehouse experience and plumbing material knowledge a plus. Plumbing experience is a must.
Ideal candidate is highly organized and able to multi task.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, and place in pick-up area)
- Receive, sort, and store delivered and returned materials.
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Report any discrepancies
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Operate and maintain warehouse and equipment
- Be able to identify plumbing products by size, type, and style
- Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses
- Collaborating with Warehouse to ensure that they fulfill all Plumber’s requests
- Negotiating sale agreements and supply contracts in ways that benefit our company
- Coordinating with shipping agencies and sellers to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and services
- Authorizing payments and managing purchasing expenses with meticulous record-keeping
Requirements
- Valid Texas Driver s License
Familiarity with inventory software, databases and systems a plus
- Must have minimum of 1 year plumbing experience
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs
- Can operate a forklift
- Self-driven
- Can work with little supervision
- Basic computer knowledge
- Bilingual a plus
- Candidates will be subject to a background check, drug test, and driving record check
Compensation is negotiable and based on experience.
