Job Summary
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Egg Room, the hourly team members, ensuring that department goals are met regarding product quality, team member safety, order fill and productivity, maintaining staffing, and administering and discipline in accordance with team member handbook.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: other duties may be assigned
- Supervisor will communicate daily with superintendent and operations manager to ensure that priorities and daily production needs are understood and communicated effectively to staff.
- Maintain Egg Room Inventory
- Create Egg sets based on production needs provided by superintendent and operations manager.
- Review Hatch of Transfer and Hatchability to determine if Egg set numbers are providing the correct number of chicks for placements.
- Communicate with other department supervisors to ensure that staffing is best utilized, and priorities met.
- Training and development of team members for all key positions and backups.
- Communicate with Truck Drivers about incoming egg supply.
- Selection of team members and administering of discipline and policy within the department.
- Communication of daily priorities, schedules, and performance results vs. goal to hourly staff. Designation and utilization of hourly team members to fulfill department obligations to safety teams and other task force teams.
Education and Experience (Due to the high volume of applicants, only those who meet the minimum qualifications will be selected for interviews):
Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent. College preferred but not required. Experience in a leadership role or demonstrated ability to function as an effective leader.
