Job Summary: The lead position is responsible for assisting with daily operations of the hatchery. Responsible for leading all production and technical aspects within department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned
- Must take a proactive role in immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance to the organization’s policies and procedures
- Responsible for assisting with training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance
- Work in conjunction with maintenance, Quality Assurance and Sanitation to coordinate projects and handle opportunities as they arise
- Perform tasks as designated by the supervisor
- Must be able to communicate effectively with team members both individually and within a group setting
- Must posess strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Individuals must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as perform all physical tasks necessary to complete the job successfully
Qualifications and Demands:
- Must be able to complete Vinovo and vaccine training and successfully obtain certifications through Viscon and vaccine suppliers
- Must become familiar with the operation of each piece of machinery within the department including set up and tear down at the end of the shift
- Assist with and coordinate the task of preventative maintenance and specialized cleaning that is performed on days that transfer is not running
- Individual needs to possess basic computer skills including Word, Outlook, etc.
- Maintain open communication and address any problems with supervision in a timely manner
- Individual will assist with keeping track of supply inventories (vaccine, diluent, syringes, alcohol, blue dye, suma tabs, etc.)
- In meeting the needs of production schedules, individual must be able to work holidays and weekends whenever necessary.
