Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Director will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative recruiting strategies, upscaling recruitment procedures from sourcing to hiring, leading a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists and identifying high-potential candidates that align with Bell's culture and values. This role will ensure a candidate experience that embraces Bell's values, culture and service standards.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management

  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Provide coaching, training, mentorship, guidance, and career development to members of your team.
  • Use metrics to create reports on overall talent acquisition data (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) and identify areas of improvement.
  • Ensure processes are compliant with current labor legislation and ensure consistent communication to team.
  • Advise and coach recruiters and hiring managers on compliant interviewing and evaluation methods.
  • Oversee all stages of candidate experience (including application, interviews and communication).
  • Assist with special projects and attend meetings as assigned.

Resource Planning

  • Collaborate with HR and leaders to understand future staffing plans to develop scalable strategies and initiatives that increase hiring velocity and productivity.
  • Thoughtfully align the recruiting team to be agile and execution oriented to make deep impact on the highest priority recruiting areas for our organization.
  • Collaborate with marketing to implement employer branding activities.

Sourcing and Recruiting

  • Partner with external recruiting vendors, negotiate terms, and coordinate schedules to fill professional and management-level positions as needed.
  • Develop new strategies and programs to attract candidates and build talent pipelines for current and future job openings.
  • Coordinate, participate in and host recruitment events to drive awareness of opportunities.
  • Build the company's professional network through relationships with HR professionals, colleges and other partners.
  • Design, plan and execute employer branding activities.
  • Lead sourcing strategies, screen candidates, extend job offers and negotiate offers when necessary.
  • Proactively seek candidates via online job boards and social media and innovative sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and principles are incorporated throughout the steps in the hiring process, from pipeline development to conversion; recommend creative and results-oriented ideas to cultivate a diverse pipeline and create a diverse workforce.
  • Prepare candidate profiles to present hiring leaders.
  • Manage external partnerships with colleges, job boards and ATS software vendors.

Customer Service and Process Improvement

  • Ensure our candidates receive a high level of service (in accordance with Bell customer service standards) as they make their way through the applicant journey, whether they are selected for a position at Bell or not.
  • Ensure a high level of service (in accordance with Bell customer service standards) and a strong partnership with our hiring managers as we support them in filling their open roles.
  • Continuously improve and standardize our recruiting processes for efficiencies.
  • Leverage ATS and enhance the functionality that will result in advantages to the company and our candidates.
  • Network and research to discover new tools and vehicles to contact the best candidates.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field; or equivalent amount of experience.
  • 10 years of human resources, recruitment, talent acquisition, or similar experience.
  • 5 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically experience working with PowerPoint and Excel to create executive recruiting and hiring summaries; ability to turn data into strategic insights and action plans.
  • Experience working in both pipeline and requisition-based environments.
  • Possess strong analytic skills with the ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team.
  • Ability to execute recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management.
  • Experience building and utilizing a variety of sourcing strategies, plans, and tools.
  • Ability to network via social media and other professional platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases.
  • Experience in leading an effective team with an attention to the applicant experience with (phone and in-person) interviews, candidate screening and evaluation.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
