Senior Accountant/CPA:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of complex, professional accounting tasks in maintaining accounting records and preparing financial reports, operating statements, bookkeeping and taxes for clients of Bell & Company, P.A. This leadership role will also review the work, provide feedback, mentor and lead.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Able to accurately and correctly prepare tax returns such as 990, 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120 and 1120S.
Review quarterly 941 tax reports.
Review returns and other works prepared by Staff Accountants.
Train Staff Accountants and Bookkeepers.
Establish and maintain excellent rapport and communication with clients and coworkers.
Evaluate client needs and identify opportunities for added services.
Assist Shareholder in advising clients in all areas of provided services.
Maintain accurate records and time entry for billing purposes.
Maintain CPA license by seeking out and participating in continuing education programs.
Be at work, in person, as scheduled or expected, regularly and on time.
Qualifications
· CPA in good standing.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
· Minimum of 3 years of recent practical experience in public accounting required.
· Ability to analyze financial data and draw appropriate conclusions.
· Excellent computer skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLDEGE REQUIRED
· Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
· Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
· Understanding of a broad range of accounting issues including those involving higher levels of judgement such as: priority for income taxes, revenue recognition, subsequent events, contingencies and industry specific procedures.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software, Quickbooks, Practice CS and Ultratax preferred.
