About the Role - Bell Nursery, a business unit of Central Garden & Pet, is seeking a talented Human Resources Manager with leadership and multi-tasking skills to support multiple farm sites within the Live Goods business.
Responsibilities
- Lead full life-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles for a group of farms/facilities.
- Administer the requisition/approval process and partner with the Central recruiting team for all advertising and recruiting support.
- Maintain compliance by managing the background, drug test and e-Verify process.
- Conduct stay and exit interviews and act as a conduit in the approval process for personnel actions/changes.
- Efficient response to “Human Resources” queries from facility managers.
- Lead the Progressive Coaching process throughout their respective regions – ensuring due process for all employees.
- Conduct work-place investigations in partnership with facility managers.
- Assist with establishing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures.
- Lead the on-boarding process and new-hire orientations.
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources for the development, planning and implementation of all Learning & Development initiatives for your support areas.
- Support technical training in the areas of IT rollouts, HRIS program areas and other software initiatives or changes that would affect their respective area.
- Organization of training materials/manuals for key employee groups and training.
- Assess training needs in each of your support areas.
- Facilitate the accident/incident reporting and investigating process – including training for facility management.
- Manage the workers’ compensation process for multiple facilities.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field or equivalent experience with 5-10 years’ experience in Human Resources. Green industry, merchandising or distribution industry a plus.
Required Skills
- Bilingual Skill set in English and Spanish preferred.
- Systems knowledge and ability to learn new technology.
- Experience creating and maintaining critical Human Resources administrative functions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with confidential data.
- Specific proficiency in HRIS systems, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- SHRM Certification a plus.
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels and maintain a professional image at all times.
- Possess a high level of professionalism and ability to perform under deadlines and multi-task.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Pay range and compensation package - 75K-90K
