JOB TITLE: Venue Representative
LOCATION: Eccentric Café, Kalamazoo, MI
REPORTS TO: Venue Lead
FLSA POSITION TYPE: Part-time, Hourly Non-Exempt
Starting Rate $15.25/hour
POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Event Department the Venue Representative works to uphold and maintain experiences and a positive image for both private and public events at Bell’s Brewery Eccentric Café and Beer Garden.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of Bell’s Brewery.
- Embraces how diversity and eccentricities make Bell’s a better company. Operates in a spirit of open and honest cooperation while valuing the inherent self-worth & dignity of every employee
- Creates an inviting atmosphere for venue guests and performers.
- Acts as on-site relationship manager for live talent and private parties to ensure needs are met according to contract terms before, during, and after the performance (i.e. planning, rider fulfillment, set-up, clean-up, cash handling, etc.)
- Supports venue staff through communication of pertinent details and expectations of event.
- Manages the master will-call list and is the point of contact while on duty to handle ticket issues or inquiries.
- Assists Operations Team to ensure facility needs are met to maintain a clean and safe environment for guest and performers.
- Observes and monitors patron interactions; helps determine if intoxication levels are detracting from the safety of the environment and reports any issues to Hospitality Management Team.
- Responsible for acting as the Bell’s liaison and works with external entertainment, security, and company vendors as needed to:
o Provide event expectations
o Communicate appropriately with all relevant vendors.
o Assists with loading and unloading of equipment.
- Reconciles payment at the end of events with the appropriate parties and remits accurate payment to performers.
- Records and inputs data and notes into concert management system and event log.
- Uses historical data and information to aid in the preparation of future shows/events.
- Meets weekly with the department for event planning and reporting updates and breakdowns
- Presents recommendations for event planning and execution.
- Responsible for set up and break down of event layout.
o Wedding Ceremonies/Reception
o Ticketed music
o Bell’s Sponsored events

- Strong written and verbal communication skills and must be comfortable addressing diverse groups.
- Strong computer skills necessary to quickly learn Bells’ software and systems.
- A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
- Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple processes at one time.
- Ability to control crowds and handle unforeseen situations
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- Experience working within a customer-focused entertainment venue, with performers in a bar atmosphere, or related events or private parties setting.
- Minimum of HS Diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Passion for music and event coordination
- Prior experience with cash handling and crowd monitoring, a plus.
- TiPS/Tam certified, a plus
