Bell Tower Residence is a not-for-profit, highly respected community-based residential facility (CBRF). We have a reputation for providing quality care to seniors in Merrill and the surrounding communities for more than 30 years. We are located in the city of Merrill and are a short 20-minute drive from Wausau.
We currently have an opening for a full-time, exempt Director of Dining Services. This position is responsible for the direction, implementation and supervision of all meal service and nutritional support for residents while following applicable federal, state and local regulations, as well as corporate policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for providing a quality assurance program that certifies guests therapeutic nutritional requirements are met with a variety of flavorful meals, snacks and supplements, while sanitation, safety and cost control are maintained.

Essential Functions of the Job:
- Manages the selection, training, development and performance of assigned staff to retain a motivated professional workforce for Wisconsin Illinois Senior Housing Inc. Plans, coordinates and conducts routine, educational meetings for departmental staff.
- Collaborates with the nursing department regarding initial and ongoing clinical nutritional assessments. Participates in guest care conferences.
- Collaborates with the nursing department regarding menu planning in accordance with nutritional and therapeutic needs of residents, adjusting for special menus and resident preferences.
- Direct, implement and monitor preparation of all food in accordance with cycle menus, therapeutic menu extensions, snacks and scheduled nourishments.
- Responsible for financial viability of department, to include development, management and accountability of budgets.
- Responsible for prevention of foodborne illness through strict adherence to maintenance of sanitary practices and conditions. Completes sanitary and safety inspections on a routine basis.
- Collaborates with dietary staff in coordinating interdepartmental and catered events.
- Other duties: completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements and Preferences
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Accreditation as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or currently enrolled in approved CDM course and will be eligible to write CDM exam at completion of course work.
- Sanitation certification required
- Valid WI Driver License
- Proficient in Microsoft, email and internet applications
- Strong desire to work with the elderly
- Must be English literate and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in long-term care preferred.
- Management experience in food service preferred
