What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Bellco Credit Union?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for human resources functions such as: recruiting, payroll administration, benefits administration, employee relations, etc. Provides advice and guidance to employees on the interpretation of personnel policies for assigned functions. Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness of current programs; recommends improvements to the policies and procedures related to assigned human resource functions. Responsible for providing quality service to all internal and external clients.
Responsibilities
Provides a valuable and enjoyable experience to both internal customers and members during interactions. Consistently suggests ways to improve the member/customer experience through improved processes and technology.
Fully responsible for all aspects of recruitment and selection of well-qualified employees. Proactively sources candidates and provides an excellent experience to all applicants.
Completes background/reference check process and pre-employment testing with urgency and accuracy.
Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details. Updates records as necessary in relation to performance and life changes.
Provides HRIS expertise and aids staff in utilizing system while implementing efficiencies within the HR department.
Generates monthly and special reports, disseminating the information with accuracy and ensuring confidentiality.
Conducts HR segment of new employee orientation, as well as conducting new hire chats.
Manages unemployment claims process and appeals, maintaining records of all correspondence.
Manages process for employee verification of employment with accuracy and urgency.
Provides benefits knowledge and resources to employees, assists with open enrollment.
Expert in completing payroll administration.
Acts as liaison with other departments promoting HR professionalism and confidentiality.
Models and enforces policies within the organization.
Respects relationships with other departments by ensuring they have appropriate and timely information from HR.
Responds to human resources-related inquiries.
Regular and punctual attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree in related field or equivalent experience. HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc) preferred.
- 2-3 years human resources experience required, preferably in a high-volume environment within the last 5 years
- Experience with recruiting and payroll required
