JOB SUMMARY: The Community Crisis and Trauma Director will oversee all aspects of service delivery and treatment of clients for the Community Crisis and Trauma. The Director provides oversight and supervision for all direct service and support staff. Further, the Director ensures consistent adherence to established rules and regulations governing the operations of the Agency and the department.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
  1. Provide administrative and clinical supervision to the program and staff including, but not limited to, hiring, supervision, evaluation, disciplinary actions and termination of employees.
  2. Facilitate the implementation of clinical planning for clients, including assessment and disposition when required.
  3. Ensure high quality in all aspects of service delivery and client treatment.
  4. Ensure all staff documents are up-to-date, including but not limited to, crisis assessments, CANS assessments, safety plans, and intake and discharge forms.
  5. Provide the ability and flexibility to step in and cover all roles of the program to keep operations occurring during times of staffing shortages.
  6. Facilitate hospitalization for clients as necessary.
  7. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment according to HIPPA guidelines. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  8. Ensure the program meets all stakeholder requirements.

OTHER DUTIES:
 
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
  2. All required trainings, certifications, and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  4. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. Education: Master’s degree required.
  2. Licensure:  Valid Ohio LISW-S or PCC-S or IMFT required.
  3. Skills/Competencies:       
  • Strong clinical skills including expertise in systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions, and substance abuse therapy.
  • Ability to deal with crisis situations that require prompt decision-making skills and action.
  • Core Expertise: Possess skill, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential duties of their role; keeps knowledge up to date.
  • Independent Judgment: Demonstrate ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Cultural Competency: Demonstrate awareness, sensitivity and skills in working professionally with diverse individuals, groups and communities who represent various cultural and personal background and characteristics.
  • Interpersonal Communication: Communicate clearly using verbal, nonverbal, and written skills in a professional context; demonstrates clear understanding and use of professional language.
  • Professional & Ethical Conduct: Adhere to professional values such as honesty, personal responsibility, and accountability; Applies ethical concepts within scope of work and adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Function effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees, clients and family members.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Recognize problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
  • Service Orientation: Anticipate, recognize, and meet the needs of others, whether they are clients or not.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate competence in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
  1. Experience:   Minimum of two years of experience working with youth and families in a mental health setting. Knowledge of the DSM-5 and diagnostic criteria.
Experience with family systems and crisis intervention preferred.
  1. Other:           Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company.  Must be approved by Bellefaire to transport clients in own vehicle.
