What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Bellefonte School District?
Bellefonte Area School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Substitute Teacher.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in any area is required. A degree in education is NOT required.
Job Responsibilities:
-Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with the provided lesson plan and
district policies
-Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the lesson plans as provided
-Instruct students in a variety of classroom courses/topics
-Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation
-Create a safe learning environment that is conducive to productive learning and
developmentally appropriate
-Adapt to various learning styles of students
-For long-term assignments, you may be expected to develop lesson plans and administer/grade
assessments
Outside Applicants:
Current Clearances Required (within past 5 years)
*Act 34 (Criminal History)
*Act 114 (FBI Fingerprint)
*Act 151 (PA Child Abuse)
*Act 126 (Mandated Reporter Training)
Clearances MUST be for employment.
Volunteer clearances will NOT be accepted.

The hired candidate will be required the following upon hire:
*Act 168 paperwork
*Current Physical (within past year of hire start date)
*Current TB test (within past 3 months of hire start date)
