Position: Student Success Coach - Attendance
Position Location: Belleville High School
Reports To: Building Principal
Salary: $45,000
DAYS and TIMES: All teacher work & PD days, plus 2 additional half days, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Supports the function of the SRC (Student Resource Center), and coordinates leveled interventions between students and their families, counselors, administration, and support agencies.
Whereas the BHS Student Resource Center (SRC) supports students so that they are able to:
● Learn how to make better choices/decisions when confronted with challenges in the classroom and/or school environment.
● Develop their self-esteem.
● Encourage them to improve academic achievement
● Improve positive behaviors
● Be respectful of the school environment and uphold high academic and behavior expectations.
Whereas the BHS School Resource Center (SRC) supports student success by working to:
● Provide Tier II and Tier III interventions
● Decrease out of school suspensions
● Minimize student time out of class due to behavioral issues
● Improve grades
● Improve attendance
● Improve social and emotional skills
● Increase instructional time due to fewer behavioral interruptions
● Decrease office referrals
● Decrease incidents of bullying/cyberbullying
● Increase students' overall feeling of safety in school
● Improve overall school climate
● Acclimate new students to BHS
The BHS Student Success Coach-Attendance works as a “bridge” between the SRC and the counseling team, and administration to improve student overall outcomes.
1. Monitors attendance and assists with various attendance procedures;
2. Maintains accurate records of student attendance; prepares and maintains a variety of records and files (electronic) regarding student attendance, tardiness, truancy,
suspension and discipline; according to the BHS Attendance Policy
3. Communicates with students and parents regarding attendance and related issues; makes and receives phone calls and notes regarding student attendance concerns and problems; makes home visits as needed;
4. Serve as a role model both on and off-campus; abides by all district policies and represents the students, staff, and community well.
5. Pulls hourly attendance reports to establish trends and early warning signs. Coordinates data with Counselors and SRC.
6. Provides student attendance information to staff, parents, and authorities as requested; explains and interprets policies and regulations regarding school attendance
7. Prepares accurate attendance information and required documents and materials for district mediation, parent meetings, truancy interventions;
8. Refers serious attendance problems according to established procedures; assists in identifying and resolving problems of students with frequent absenteeism; Completes
JCO1s in collaboration with the student’s Assistant Principal.
9. Develops relationships and provides a case management support approach to a cohort of students identified as at-risk at BHS. This includes meeting regularly with the students throughout the school year and providing guidance and support to navigate and overcome academic and non-academic barriers to their success.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
● Associates degree required; bachelors preferred.
● Experience in education or social work, preferably working with direct student support.
● Proficiency with spreadsheets, charts, presentations, and graphs.
