GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Learning, the Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction will work closely with teachers, principals, and district administrative staff from various departments to assist in coordinating the activities of those persons involved in the curriculum model. This includes the development of curriculum resources, assessments, pacing guides, learning plans, and assisting in maintaining the master file of curriculum guides. The person holding this position will assist in facilitating the selection process of curriculum material such as textbooks, instructional technology, and other instructional materials and equipment. The Coordinator must be focused on student learning with the ability to promote and sustain quality curriculum and programs with high quality instructional strategies centered on student achievement and teacher development. The Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring PK – 12 curriculum; in collaboration with other administrators and staff; by providing professional learning opportunities which help staff accomplish their goals aligned with district curriculum, instruction and assessment; and by assisting all departments in aligning curriculum endeavors to state standards in support of school improvement and district improvement goals.
