What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual (English/Spanish) Community Liaison position at Bellevue NE?
Applications are being accepted for a 7.5 hour per day Language Interpreter (Spanish) Family Liaison position at Bellevue Public Schools. The Language Interpreter works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The Language Interpreter assists parents with communication between the school and families. Duties include interpreting for parents both one on one and when needed, developing a schedule for parents to visit the school, and data input for the family literacy program. Duties also include assisting the district family/community liaison with planning resources for parents involving family literacy. Required qualifications are that the applicant not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment. A valid driver's license is required in order to travel to more than one school during the work day. Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be occasional evening events with parents and students as needed.
