What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position at Bellevue, NE?
The BCBA will provide support in the school setting to students and staff by supervising the provision of Applied Behavior Analysis including functional analysis and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. The BCBA will also support and oversee programming provided by a trained paraprofessional trained in behavior intervention / program implementation at each of the district's 15 elementary schools. The BCBA will provide targeted professional development for school staff including special education staff, general education staff, and paraprofessionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments / behavior intervention plans, by conducting assessments and analyses, when appropriate, and developing appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate replacement behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
- Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training including modeling in Applied Behavior Analysis Programs that align with each student's needs, goals, and abilities.
- Collaborate with educational teams including general education staff, special education staff, administration, and paraprofessionals to ensure that FBA / BIPs are implemented effectively and adjusted, as needed.
- Provide ongoing support and training to direct support professionals, and other district staff in implementation of ABA principles / methodology and behavior reduction strategies.
- Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming including the training of direct support professionals.
- Create an ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all students on a caseload, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
- Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for students and their families.
- Provide support in managing crisis situations and severe behavior incidents, as needed, ensuring the safety of students and staff.
- Ensure that all ABA practices are in compliance with school policies, state regulations, and professional ethical standards.
- Maintain knowledge of existing literature, new research findings, and resources.
