Description : Purpose
The Admissions Manager is responsible for coordinating all admissions, transfers and discharges for the agency’s residential programs. This position is responsible for maintaining and developing referral sources and recruitment of referrals.
Essential Job Functions
- Recruits residents for placement, promotes the services of Bellewood & Brooklawn to placing agencies, and represents Bellewood & Brooklawn at county and state events regarding admissions.
- Compiles data from referrals into summaries that can be effectively and efficiently reviewed by team members.
- Performs pre-admission assessments to determine resident eligibility and develops Initial Plan of Care.
- Manages the Admission / Discharge / Transfer Committee as the Chairperson and secures approval from the committee for admissions.
- Works in conjunction with the Health Information Management Supervisor to complete all necessary documentation.
- Coordinates Admissions, Transfer, and Discharge with other departments at Bellewood & Brooklawn (i.e., Business Office, Medical Records).
- Accepts other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Residential Programming.
- Functions as the lead for Utilization Management activities for the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF), providing requested documentation to Medicaid Managed Care Organizations.
- Tracks insurance authorization and documents such in the electronic health record (EHR).
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises the Intake Counselor.

Education and / or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field and a minimum of one year of post graduate experience working with children. A Master’s degree in a behavioral science may substitute for the one year of experience. Computer skills required.
