Under the direct supervision of the Director of Technology or an assigned Principal, assist students and staff in the use of computer technology; troubleshoot problems with computer hardware and software; install, repair and perform general maintenance on networked and stand-alone systems. Assist students and staff in the use of computer technology; provide ongoing staff and student support in a computer lab setting; implement in-service training sessions and orientations for staff regarding the use of computer technology. Troubleshoot problems with computer hardware and software; initiate repair or work orders; communicate with outside vendors to research prices; maintain related records. Install new hardware and software at assigned sites; repair a variety of office and audiovisual equipment as required; implement new databases, prepare related records and reports as assigned. Education/Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school with a minimum of two years of experience in the operation of computer systems. Experience with student information systems and experience in performing in-services is highly desirable.
Knowledge/Abilities: Operation of a computer terminal and data entry techniques, oral and written communication skills. The ability to troubleshoot and repair basic system malfunctions and maintains system operation. Research, analyze and recommend new system software and hardware. Provide technical guidance and recommendations concerning existing computer programs and systems.
Other: A valid California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the District for insurance purposes.
