Steel Shop Lead
Job Summary:
Directs others and aids in the layout, fitting, and welding of steel and aluminum components to assemble structural forms by performing the following duties: reads and corrects blueprints with errors, checks material lists for accuracy, ensures proper material ordering, maintains dependability on work schedule, adheres to safety rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs and leads employees
- Develops layout and tacks parts
- Calculates angles and areas
- Interprets instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Operates small hand tools and fabricating machines
- Positions, fits, and aligns tack parts
- Designs and fabricates templates
- Verifies product conformance using blueprints and other means
- Makes repairs to products
