Whatcom Eye Surgeons is a progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice, we are searching for a Patient Concierge to add to our team. Responsibilities:
- Provide a great patient experience by offering personalized service during the patient registration process including greeting the patient, collecting and/or updating demographic and financial information, and collecting co-pays.
- Provide excellent customer service in all interactions with patients and visitors, assist in the completion of various documents and patient paperwork, and effectively manage dynamic or escalated patient encounters.
- Schedule all provider appointments. Ensure pre-certifications/ prior authorizations are received and interpreters are obtained when necessary.
- Collect and make changes for payments received, a complete receipt for the patient and follow the appropriate paperwork to complete the transaction.
- Prepares and maintains for completion and accuracy electronic medical charts/records, forms, registration materials, and other related documents according to the company policies and procedures.
- Assures compliance with all HIPAA regulations concerning the use, retrieval, storage, and sharing of medical records.
- Maintain flexibility, and perform other duties as required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, G-Suite, and Windows environment.
- Demonstrate excellence in communication skills and ability to convey ideas and information, verbally and in writing
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving are required to perform this role.
- Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, time management, and adaptability to a changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of general office experience, healthcare setting preferred.
