Junior IT Systems Administrator
Purpose
The Junior Systems Administrator position is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, networks, and servers within our organization. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the security, stability, and integrity of the IT systems within Bellmont. By administrating our system procedures, data backups, hardware integration, software updates, and disaster recovery initiatives, this position will limit the systems downtime and optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Maintenance & Monitoring
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure the health & reliability of systems, networks, and servers.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime.
- Monitor solutions to track system health, capacity, and performance metrics.
- Maintain Bellmont’s Active Directory and group policy set up.
- Provide application administration and data management for enterprise applications including MS Office, VMWare/Virtualization, ConnectWise, Sentinel One.
- Act as point admin for Cloud and Azure systems.
- Configuration & Deployment
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, software, and applications.
- Deploy security updates, patches, and software upgrades in a timely manner.
- Perform systems management and integration functions with users and our network.
- Support the planning, design, and implementation of system engineering projects.
- Security & Compliance
- Maintain security measures to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, & malware.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in data security and privacy.
- Participate in cyber security reviews.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Coordinate & maintain disaster recovery plans to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
- Test backup systems regularly to verify data integrity and recovery capabilities.
- Respond to and manage incidents of data loss or system failure, executing recovery procedures.
Key Relationships
- This position will support all levels from office and factory support to executive level teams.
- Coordinate efforts with our Managed Service Provider.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience

Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

Preferred certifications: CompTIA Server , CompTIA Security , Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA), Microsoft Azure Administration

Some experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, with an understanding of systems administration, networking, and IT infrastructure.

Knowledge in operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix), virtualization technologies, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and security principles.

Some experience with PowerShell.

Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment

Ability to lift and carry computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

Work is performed in both an office environment and manufacturing facility.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required when working in the shop.
