Position Summary:
Belmont College is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and dynamic part-time Fire Program Manager to lead and manage our Fire program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and management of the state fire curriculum, mentoring instructors, and ensuring that students receive high-quality education in fire safety, emergency response, and related areas. This position requires a strong background in fire service operations, instructional practices, and program administration.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Program Management & Development
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Fire Science program, ensuring alignment with industry standards and academic requirements.
- Instructor Support
Recruit and train adjunct fire faculty. Provide guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to instructors to maintain a high level of instructional quality.
- Student Success & Advising
Provide academic and career advising to fire science students. Monitor student progress, intervene when necessary, and implement strategies to increase student retention and success rates.
- Collaboration & Outreach
Build and maintain strong relationships with local fire departments, agencies, and community organizations. Collaborate with industry partners to enhance the program’s relevance and opportunities for students, such as internships, job placements, and networking events.
- Accreditation & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including those set by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other relevant bodies.
- Professional Development & Research
Stay current with emerging trends in fire science education and practice. Participate in professional organizations and attend conferences, workshops, and other development opportunities to enhance both personal and program growth.

Position Requirements:
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire service operations, including at least 2 years in an instructor
Certifications & Licenses
Valid Firefighter certification
Fire instructor certification
EMT certification preferred.
Ability to obtain required background checks and certifications for employment.
Skills & Abilities
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and motivate faculty and students.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Knowledge of current fire science techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems.
